Terms of Service

Beta — last updated 2026-04-15

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using Dossier Audio (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. The Service is currently in private beta, invite-only.

2. Beta Status; No Warranties

The Service is provided during the beta period on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis. Dossier makes no warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. The Service may change, be interrupted, or be discontinued at any time. Beta users understand that output may contain errors, and should verify any fact or claim before relying on it.

3. User Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement.

4. Account and Access

Beta access is granted by invitation or waitlist approval at Dossier’s sole discretion. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate information during signup and survey completion
  • Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • Not share your account with others or transfer access
  • Notify Dossier immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

Dossier reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account at any time for violation of these Terms or at its discretion.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

  • Scrape, crawl, harvest, or systematically extract data, dossier content, or any portion of the Service using automated tools, scripts, or bots
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code, algorithms, prompts, or underlying logic of the Service
  • Use the Service’s output to train machine learning models or to build competing products or services
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute dossier content or Service output
  • Circumvent rate limits, access controls, or any technical restrictions
  • Use the Service to harass, defame, or harm others
  • Upload content that infringes third-party intellectual property or privacy rights
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity

Violation of these provisions will result in immediate account termination and may subject the violator to legal action.

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Dossier’s IP

Dossier owns all right, title, and interest in and to the Service, including but not limited to: the Dossier name and brand, software and source code, pipeline architecture, proprietary prompts, scoring algorithms, classification and pattern-detection logic, user interface and visual design, and all other content and materials provided by Dossier. No license or right is granted except as expressly set forth in these Terms.

6.2 User Content

You retain ownership of content you submit (podcast URLs, survey responses, feedback). By submitting such content, you grant Dossier a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, and create derivative works from such content for the purposes of (a) providing the Service, (b) improving the Service and its underlying models, and (c) internal research and product development. You represent that you have all necessary rights to submit such content.

6.3 Dossier Output

Dossiers generated by the Service (claim extractions, evidence, scoring, patterns, summaries) are provided for your personal, non-commercial use during the beta. Beta users may share individual dossiers via the Service’s built-in share functions but may NOT aggregate, republish, or commercially distribute dossier output.

6.4 Feedback

Any feedback, suggestions, or ideas you provide about the Service may be used by Dossier without obligation or compensation to you.

7. Third-Party Services

The Service uses third-party service providers for core functionality, including AI inference, search and academic evidence, email delivery, form and survey hosting, and cloud infrastructure. Your use of the Service is also subject to the terms and privacy policies of these providers. A current list of sub-processors is maintained internally and available on request.

8. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dossier and its affiliates, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Dossier’s total liability shall not exceed one hundred US dollars ($100).

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Dossier and its affiliates from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

10. Modification; Termination

Dossier may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-product notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Either party may terminate at any time; upon termination, your access ends and these Terms survive as to accrued rights and obligations.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, excluding conflict-of-law principles. Disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Suffolk County, Massachusetts.
